The Milan Coffee Festival is back. And Milan becomes the capital of coffee for three days with tastings, seminars, competitions, drinks and debates.
At Superstudio Più in via Tortona, on November 12 and 14, an unmissable event for coffee lovers will be held: the third edition of the Milan Coffee Festival.
The Milano Coffee Festival returns after a two-year hiatus with a rich schedule of events, performances and competitions that will transform the dynamic Lombard metropolis into the capital of “coffee lovers”. The Italian edition of the international event that celebrates coffee in all its forms will be held as before at Superstudio Più in via Tortona, a symbolic place of one of the most historic and lively districts of the city, which fits well with the creative spirit and in cutting edge of the format.
Organized in the wake of the success of similar events in London, Amsterdam and New York, the festival offers many “live” experiences in collaboration with partner companies. “The third edition of The Milan Coffee Festival once again pursues the ambitious goal of bridging the gap between new wave of craft coffee and the all-Italian tradition of espresso. The increasingly frequent opening of specialty cafes and the spread of artisanal micro-roasting throughout the peninsula testify to how much this revolution is also taking place in the home of espresso,” explains Ludovic Rossignol-Isanovic, co-founder of Allegra Events and creator of the project.
On the calendar, free tastings of the finest coffee beans in the world, roasted by the best Italian roasteries including Cafezal, Ditta Artigianale, Orso Laboratorio, La Sosta, Bugan Coffee Lab, Pacamara, Nowhere and 1895 Coffee Designers by Lavazza.
There will be an interactive area dedicated to the popular discipline of ‘latte art’ with hands-on workshops, exhibitions and challenges.
At Latte Art there is a masterclass from Sage’s Global Coffee School Live; to find out how to prepare a perfect Espresso Martini Cocktail, don’t miss the Smirnoff Cocktail Masterclass. The lab offers an extensive program of workshops designed to offer visitors interactive demonstrations, lectures and lively debates on current issues affecting the world of coffee.
The Roast Masters
The fun competition, focused on the art of specialty coffee roasting and reserved for the best Italian roasteries, will see the participation of 20 Italians who will compete, in teams of 3, in hectic head-to-head knockout events. Four disciplines – The Espresso Smackdown, The Latte Art Showdown, The Brew Faceoff and The Signature Drink – in which the candidates will compete and be reviewed by an expert jury.
The day at The Milan Coffee Festival cannot be said to be over without a stop at the Aperitif corner where you can discover the fantastic cocktails offered by Cafezal, Mr. Black and Smirnoff. Here you can sip a reinterpretation of the classic Milanese aperitif with a signature coffee-based drink, chosen from the Cold Brew Negroni, with vermouth, Campari, gin, orange bitters or the Classic Espresso Martini with vodka, coffee liqueur, sugar and expressed. In combination, the delicious pastry proposed by Cafezal.
