This dessert is known and appreciated everywhere. In addition, it is the most famous Italian dessert in the world. To give an idea of his fame, it is enough to know that his name is reported in the common vocabulary of more than 20 different languages. And again, it is the fifth most famous Italian word in all of Europe. For centuries, different regions have competed for the origin of this dessert made with ladyfingers, eggs, coffee and mascarpone. In particular Tuscany, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Piedmont and Friuli are debating.
Tiramisu: the dessert with countless variations, even light
Regardless of which area of Italy it comes from, there are many variations of tiramisu. The first variant concerns the base. Some, in fact, instead of the classic ladyfingers, others use biscuits or even sponge cake. As for the cream for the filling, this is where the imagination runs wild. Some versions are dictated by dietary requirements alone and/or cases of allergy and intolerance. Other versions, on the other hand, follow seasonal variations. Coffee is one of the basic ingredients in traditional tiramisu. However, if children are expected to be among the diners, this ingredient poses a problem. In the following lines, we will suggest a version of the soft dessert that also suits the little ones.
Creamy summer tiramisu without eggs and coffee, also perfect for children
- 350 g ladyfingers biscuits;
- 250 g mascarpone;
- 300 ml fresh whipped cream;
- 300 ml coconut milk;
- 100 g coarsely chopped white chocolate;
- 80 g caster sugar;
- fresh raspberries to taste;
- grated desiccated coconut to taste
Process with fruit and delicious chocolate
Place the mascarpone in a bowl and mix it with the icing sugar. Meanwhile, whip the cream until stiff in another bowl with an electric whisk. When the cream is whipped, add the coconut flour and little by little the mascarpone cream. Mix well and leave to rest in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
When the cream is well set, let’s continue with the composition of our dessert: quickly dip the biscuits in coconut milk and, with these, form a layer at the bottom of a pan or of many bowls if we want to make individual portions. Pour a heavy layer of cream on top and sprinkle some raspberries and white chocolate flakes. Repeat the same operation with another layer of ladyfingers dipped in milk and another layer of cream.
Decorate the surface with raspberries, chocolate flakes and coconut flour and leave to rest in the fridge for at least 5-6 hours and serve very cold.
