The social cooperative “L’Incontro”, the operative part of the parish of Santa Maria dell’Arco in Ponte Persica, on the outskirts of Castellammare di Stabia, opens the literary café L’Incontro. The inauguration is scheduled for tonight at 20. It is, explains a note from the diocese of Sorrento-Castellammare di Stabia, about “a broader project, a dream that arises from the desire to give an entire society something that does not exist, but there is a huge need : meeting places, places where you can be together and talk over a good coffee or be able to discuss and compare ”.
“The bar is only the first step, but it is already significant: apart from coffee and everything that a place can offer, everyone can sit down and enjoy the house’s specialty, the homemade Sorrento lemon granite and the elderly will finally be able to find a place where you can play cards and spend some time with friends. The second step – explains the note from the diocese – will be the creation of the “literary café”: a space available to anyone who wants to sit down and read a good book, study or work remotely. “The café will also be a place for concerts, meetings with authors, book presentations, conferences, debates. A real cultural center in the heart of the outskirts of Castellammare. The third step will be the much sought after ‘football pitch’, with associated carousels for children and various games.
Places designed for all age groups, with one goal: to be together, to listen to each other, to feel less alone. “You will find the inspiration for everything written as soon as you enter – said the chairman of the social cooperative, Amodio Raimo – we have reported the phrase of John Paul II:” Take your life and make it a masterpiece “. This does not apply only on a personal level: the whole parish wants to make this periphery a masterpiece of relationships, closeness, solidarity, listening, attention, beauty. “” What we have before us is a demanding journey – observes the pastor of the church of Santa Maria dell’Arco, Don Modestino Capodilupo – but each journey begins with the first step and then one foot after the other. Supported on this journey by our Heavenly Mother and driven by the wind of the Spirit ”.
