International Coffee Day: Julius Meinl commits to forest replantation in Tanzania

THEn the occasion of World Coffee Day, Julius Meinl which has always aimed to make the world a better place for this and for future generations, reaffirms its commitment not only to the production of the highest quality coffee, but also to protecting the environment. This first October, the historic Austrian roasting company with a productive heart in Vicenza launches a green initiative supporting out-of-home operators to offset their carbon emissions, through the Tanzania Reforestation Initiative.

For each premises that participates in the initiative that uses sustainable and Julius Meinl-certified mixesover Jane Goodall Institute, a tree will be planted to contribute to the replanting of Tanzania, one of the countries of origin of the coffee from the Julius Meinl blends. In addition, the premises involved will receive a certificate attesting to their commitment to protecting the environment. Thanks to this project, which was carried out for the second year in a row, the more than 20,000 planted bushes will absorb about 60 kg of CO2 eachin the next ten years and thereby contribute to reducing emissions e mitigate the effects of climate change.

Coffee lovers will also be able to do their part

Coffee lovers are also invited to make their contribution by participating in the initiative: all day on October 1, by purchasing a coffee at one of the 120 participating Julius Meinl locations throughout Italy, you will receive a voucher for the purchase of another coffee; to allow customers to return until the end of October and offer a free coffee to the person they want, spend a moment’s break together.
