Strauss Group, a leader in the food sector in Israel, will end 2021 with growth of 7.4% to NIS 8.7 billion (equivalent to EUR 2.6 billion) in total revenue. The booming coffee business generated a turnover of NIS 3,499 (equivalent to EUR 1,050 million).

The company’s 2021 revenue was NIS 8.75 billion, reflecting organic growth of 7.4% after currency effects. The improvement is largely due to the growth in sales volumes and the increase in sales prices of the coffee business in Brazil and CEE, the growth of the business in the water business and the growth in sales and the increase in market share. in Israel, mainly in the dairy category and alternative dairy products. Growth in sales volumes offset the erosion of gross profit. Overall, Strauss generated an operating profit of NIS 980 million in 2021 and maintained an operating margin of 11.2%, similar to last year, thanks to gains on its investments in its FoodTech business. Profit attributable to shareholders was NIS 639 million.


Coffee is the group’s most important business with a turnover of 3,499 NIS (equivalent to 1,050 Mni €) in 2021, of which 728 Mni NIS in Israel and 2,771 Mni NIS internationally. In relation to the above turnover figures, Strauss Coffee is one of the top 10 coffee companies in the world. Strauss Coffee operates in 10 different countries around the world, has over 16 brands and over 6,000 employees. It is present in Israel, in the countries of the former Soviet Union, in Eastern Europe and Brazil by offering a wide range of coffee products through its retail, online e-commerce and Away from Home (AFH) channels.

Strauss Coffee’s first-half performance was particularly strong. Sales in Israel grew 6.1% in the first six months to NIS 395 million thanks to increased retail and out-of-home (AFH) sales. Sales of the coffee company in Brazil rose 62.4% in the half year to NIS 1.26 billion following the increase in quantities sold and price increases. The coffee business in Eastern Europe also delivered a successful half-year, with double-digit sales growth, despite the ongoing war in Ukraine.

The expansion of Strauss Caffè continued in Eastern Europe by acquiring JAVA Coffee, a trendy and unique coffee brand in Serbia, specializing in unique and quality coffee, as well as marketing coffee accessories.
