The “Offer a very good coffee” campaign has closed: all figures

01.07.2022 – 10.17 – The solidarity campaign has ended “Offer a very good coffee”, the initiative to ABC Association for Surgical Children of the Burlo promotes in collaboration with Confcommercio Trieste and Fipe Trieste. Thanks to the great generosity of the customers, they were collected, by 124 public and commercial companies participating in the campaign, 12,572 euros: the proceeds will be used for the reception of families that will be hosted in one ABC house in one year.
In recent years, ABC has seen a continued increase in requests for support from families of surgical children. In it 2021 assumptions (210) more than doubled compared to 2020 (93). Also this year, the number of welcoming people in the 5 ABC houses will confirm the figure for 2021. The growing need is also fueled by the critical situation that many families are experiencing due to the sensitive economic and social events that are reflected in everyone’s daily lives. It is even more important, therefore, to be able to count on solidarity initiatives, which create value and involve an entire community towards a common goal.

The consolidated collaborative relationship with Confcommercio Trieste and Fipe Trieste, who have mobilized their members in this extraordinary solidarity initiative. In addition to the initiative and then the first edition, also the collaboration between Trieste Coffee Association and Trieste Solidarity and media partnership by Radio Punto Zero and Radio Attivita.
“The solidarity of the merchants who collaborated in the campaign and the generosity of the citizens who donated were valuable: thanks to the” Offer a Good Coffee “harvest, ABC will be able to guarantee the hospitality of families who will be welcomed in an ABC House in a year, will support ca 40 receptions. This is a basic project configured in ABC’s general activities that aims to welcome, support and emotional and psychological support for young patients and their families throughout the care process, as well as support to the Department of Surgery of Burlo Hospital. Help from society is therefore crucial to continue to guarantee this project and all other activities in the association ”. Comment like this Giusy Battain, director of the ABC Association for Surgical Children of the Burlo. – I thank our partners, Confcommercio Trieste and Fipe Trieste, the exhibitors, traders and all citizens for the journey we have made together and for showing that together we can achieve fantastic results. A fantastic community initiative thanks to which the association will be able to continue to respond to the ever-growing needs that surgical children and their families face. “

For its part, Antonio PaolettiPresident of Confcommercio Trieste, emphasized how “even in these circumstances, companies in the tertiary sector have been able and willing to respond, also thanks to the participation of citizens, with the usual generosity and participation in this solidarity proposal, thus reiterating their widespread connection to the territory and their The connection to “Offer a Good Coffee” – Paoletti then reminded – also falls within the context of the constant attention that Confcommercio reserves for the reality in the territory that is spent every day in favor of the most delicate substances and which materializes during the course of the year by promoting and organizing various other initiatives “.
“The one with ABC is a consolidated project – states the president of Fipe Trieste Federica Suban – which means that our sector, by collecting small gestures, can provide concrete help to a reality that is now indispensable for many families and many children in a complicated and painful moment in life. “Trieste is a city with great sensitivity and generosity, and this is also evident from the fact that despite the economic difficulties in the field of the pandemic, the tax that we can deliver to the non-profit organization this year is still significant”.
A small, big gesture, of the same value as a coffee, once again confirmed the generosity of the citizens and showed the importance of the association between local authorities and associations that work together for a common cause: in this case the support for young patients from Burlo Surgery and their families.
